Hi all !! This is the first working day in the year 2008 and i thought to spread knowledge about literally anything under the sun. I recently picked up a books called India Booms by John Farndon which i thought was pretty decent a read. Evevn Mark Tully the BBC correspondent had praises for the book. In the first page it was wriiten how USA's disgust for India has taken a U turn over the years. US President Richard Nixon Once said what Indians need badly is a mass famine. I then decided to dwelve further into the matter so as to get more information about the life of Mr. Nixon.
ROCK ON!!
I have seen the recently released movie Rock ON! thrice. But it was a learning experience for me everytime i saw the movie. First time i saw the movie in Baroda which is considered to be the cultural capital of gujarat and second time in gandhinagar which is just the capital of gujarat. In baroda although the hall was full, still there were no lewd or cheap comments heard while the movie was being played. But in Gandhinagar,i saw people laughing (quite loudly) like a idiot without the need for it. I finally got an idea what change might and city culture bring to its its residents. I guess in the age of new-money (gurgaon,banglore etc.. etc..) its imperative to know how to carry ourselves.
Third time when i saw the movie, it was even more pathetic. A group of boys (popularly known as latthas) had come to see the film. One of them turned out to be such ASB (Attention seeking bastard) that he started singing alongwith the heroine in a not-so-low decibel.
Anyways i returned home. After throughly ROCK ON! and carrying a smirk on my face.
